The Ötztal area is associated with the famous finding of the iceman Ötzi. The area consists of three main ski resorts. At the beginning of the valley lies Oetz, followed by Sölden - the heart of the valley, and at the end, there is the relatively unknown Obergurgl-Hochgurgl resort. Three other ski areas complement the glacier: Hochzeiger, Imst and Rifflsee. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, there are other winter activities available, such as winter mountain hiking, snowshoeing in the untouched winter landscape, ice skating or tobogganing.
