Tignes
Tignes is part of the Espace Killy area, which is considered by many, one of the most beautiful ski areas in the world. It is located in the northeast of France in the Taranta Valley in the Rhone-Alps. Resort Tignes consists of several mountain villages at an altitude of about 2,000 m above sea level with the possibility of skiing on the Grande Motte glacier. That itself guarantees excellent conditions for winter sports.
The connection with Val d'Isère created a large ski region, Espace Killy. In winter, there is more than 300 km of slopes, where everyone can fully enjoy variety in skiing or snowboarding. There are ideal conditions for freeride fans as well.
Tignes, together with Val d'Isère, has about 50 km of cross-country trails, which are charged. A rarity is an alpine trail on a glacier at an altitude of 2,900 m above sea level. On top of that, there are other activities available, such as ice diving, skating, dog sledging and much more.
Besides sports, the location benefits from a wide range of services including excellent restaurants, bars, clubs, a cinema, a multimedia centre, bowling and other. You can also visit a water park Lagon, which is ideal for relaxing after sports activities.
